2018 International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Domů 2018 International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Last year we focused on our favourite women researchers, university teachers and inventors, who inspire us. This year we want to commemorate women inventors and their inventions.

During the campaign at this Facebook page we will present a handful of the many females whose ingenuity shaped the world, as we know it over the last couple of centuries. Mary Andreson, Tabitha Masters, Stephanie Kwolek, Grace Hopper and plenty of others.

Women inventors played an important role in the world of innovation throughout history. Despite gender stereotypes and discriminatory obstacles that stood at every turn, these female inventors displayed an iron will and unwavering perseverance in pursuing their goals.

Let´s commemorate the women inventors together!

Let us know what other inventions should be invented to improve the lives of women and girls. Post your ideas between 1 – 11 February at our Facebook page. Use hashtag #inovaceprozeny #gendervinovacich

In order to achieve full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls, and further achieve gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls, the United Nations General Assembly declared 11 February as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
