GENDERACTIONplus project has officially ended. New projects will build upon work achieved
In mid-September, the final evaluation of the Horizon Europe framework program GENDERACTIONplus (2022–2025) took place with representatives of the European Commission. The friendly and constructive discussion focused primarily on the future. Our coordination team was delighted that the European Commission highlighted the high quality, relevance, and impact of our work.
During the project, two strong Communities of Practice were established and operated, based on cooperation between national authorities and support providers. Their main task was to facilitate sharing, mutual learning, and coordination of policies and approaches in promoting gender equality in research.
GENDERACTIONplus also contributed to stronger policy coordination by providing strategic advice, benchmarking, mutual learning, and practical tools (such as a data dashboard and practical guides).
Despite political resistance and the growing mobilization of anti-gender movements across Europe, the project participants stuck to their goal. It developed new tools, collected data, and made strategic recommendations.
Our work shaped national policies and influenced European research priorities. GENDERACTIONplus may be coming to an end, but our work is not. We also hope to continue our work in the future with a new project, which is currently in the early stages of preparation.
