Marcela Linková

Marcela Linková PhD is a researcher at the Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences where she directs the Centre for Gender and Science. She has a doctorate in sociology from Charles University in Prague. Her research focuses on sociology of gendered organizations, research careers, governance of research and research assessment from a gender perspective. Marcela also examines the material-discursive practices through which gender equality policies and initiatives are adopted and implemented at the European and Czech country levels. She is the chair of the ERAC Standing Working Group on Gender in Research and Innovation. She is active in developing policy solutions for gender equality in research at the Czech and EU levels. Marcela has been involved in several EU funded projects; most recently, she is the coordinator of Horizon 2020 GENDERACTION project and participates in GE Academy, Gender-SMART and CASPER. She has served on expert and advisory bodies of the European Commission and in the Czech Republic. She is an alumna of the International Visitor Leadership Programme “Women in STEM”.

Eva Oliva

Eva graduated from the Master’s programme in Ethnology at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University with a focus on gendered social roles and the study of masculinities. Previously, she studied a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, Society and Culture at the Anglo-American University in Prague. She is responsible for the project’s activities in the area of expert support to research organizations, particularly on issues related to advocacy for institutional change in science and research organizations. She is particularly interested in the issue of gender-based violence in academic environment. She also works with the Community for Change and is involved in supporting them in conducting gender audits.
Ananké Nebeská
Gender dimension in research in the CZERA project

Ananké holds a master’s degree in Gender studies from the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University, where their main focus were the intersections of feminism and ecology. They are responsible for the gender dimension in research agenda as part of the Community for Change as well as the project One Size Doesn’t Fit All in the CZERA project. They have been a member of the Centre for Gender & Science since 2022 and in the past, they worked as an event coordinator of the Ending gender-based violence in academia conference and within the STRATIN+ project.
Barbora Schneiderová
Communication Manager in the CZERA & GENDERACTIONplus projects

She has been a member of the NKC team since January 2024. At the Centre for Gender and Science, she is responsible for external communication, social media, and newsletter production for the GENDERACTIONplus and CZERA projects. She studied journalism and Theatre studies at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. In the past, she worked in the media, led a media project for the Scout Institute, and dealt with gender-related issues while working for Heroine magazine. Outside of the Centre, she is an arts journalist mainly working for the Deník N, especially in the field of theatre and circus. In her spare time, she studies Italian, collects spices and loves to explore foreign countries with a backpack.
Magdaléna Michlová
STRATIN+
Magdaléna Michlová graduated in Sociology and Cultural studies and is continuing her PhD in sociology at Charles University. Her dissertation project focuses on student activism on gender-based violence at universities. She has been working at NKC since March 2024. She is collaborating with Masaryk University on the Female Empowerment project. She occasionally translates academic and popular titles and does cultural journalism. In her free time, Magdaléna reads, writes, attends concerts and exhibitions. Artistically, she realizes herself in tattooing.
Anna Donovalová
Analyst in the STRATIN+ project

Anna studied Teaching at secondary school at the Hussite Theological Faculty, Charles University. Her thesis was focused on the attitudes of the teachers to gender and gender equality. She is currently studying a Ph.D. program at the Faculty of Education, Charles University, her study is focused on gender in the curriculum framework. She has been a member of the Center for Gender & Science team since February 2022 as a gender equality analyst in the STRATIN+ project. In her free time, Anna likes reading, watching series and movies, or listening to music. Her favorite hobby is photography.
Zuzana Andreska

Zuzana studied law and gender studies at Charles University. Her research focuses on the issue of gender-based violence in academic settings (UniSAFE project). Moreover, she is involved in advocacy tasks and cooperation with state administration in promoting gender equality in science.
Emmalynn Hansen

Emmalynn joined the NKC team in August 2024 as the EU Impact Coordinator for GENDERACTIONplus, supporting the dissemination of project outputs to influence EU-level policy on gender equality in research. She moved to Prague in 2022, where she earned a Master’s degree in International Relations from Charles University Faculty of Social Sciences, with a focus on the gendered impacts of globalisation. Previously, she earned a Bachelor’s degree from Whitman College in political theory and environmental studies, with a minor in mathematics. Outside of work, she enjoys film photography, yoga, being outside, and making Spotify playlists.
Jana Dvořáčková

Jana holds a PhD in sociology from the Faculty of Social Studies at Masaryk University in Brno. She joined the Centre for Gender and Science in 2018. In her current work, she focuses mainly on gender aspects of research funding, measures to promote gender equality in research funding organisations, the gender dimension of research and innovation and the sociology of medicine. Besides her work for the Centre, she is also an assistant professor at the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Humanities of Charles University, where she teaches courses in the Gender Studies programme.

Kristýna Čanigová

Kristýna is a doctorate candidate in Cultural Anthropology at the Palacky University in Olomouc, and topic of her research is Human Trafficking in Sex Work in India. The main interest of hers work is gender empowerment, human rights, marriage and sexuality. She has been part of the team since the summer of 2024 in the position of an assitant and production manager. Her biggest passion is dance, travelling and good food.
