Cyberspace and Law: Reconstructing Digital Justice from a Gender Equality Perspective
A Webinar on Gender Dimension in Research
The Centre for Gender and Science organised a webinar entitled Cyberspace and Law: Reconstructing Digital Justice from a Gender Equality Perspective on 16 December 2025, led by Assoc. Prof. Dominik Šoltys. The event formed part of NKC’s educational activities aimed at integrating the gender dimension into research within the Czech scientific community.
In this series of guest lectures, international experts present their work to promote the gender perspective in research and share best practices and examples relevant to Czech academia.
The guest speaker, Assoc. Prof. Dominik Šoltys, is a member of the Gustav Radbruch Institute of Theory of Law, Faculty of Law, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, where he teaches courses such as Legal Thinking, Legal Ethics, Theory of State and Law, and Gender Aspects of Law. His teaching and research focus on the critical reflection of law within social, philosophical, and ideological contexts.

He is the author of the first systematic publication on legal feminism in Slovak legal scholarship – A H(andb)ook of Legal Feminism (2022), which analyzes legal feminism as a distinct legal-philosophical approach and maps its ideological forms, theoretical positions, and different waves. In his book Contemporary Forms of Legal Philosophy (2022), he introduces postmodern and critical legal theories, including critiques of patriarchy, racism, and heteronormativity.
Currently, he explores the impact of cyberspace and posthumanist thought on feminist legal theories, aiming to develop interdisciplinary approaches to law that transcend traditional legal frameworks.
In the webinar titled Cyberspace and Law: Reconstructing Digital Justice from a Gender Equality Perspective, the guest speaker explored cyberspace as a dynamic environment where new forms of identity, power, and justice emerge. The webinar focused on the legal challenges of the digital age, particularly issues of gender equality, digital identity protection, and technology regulation. Special attention was given to the position of women in digital environments, their vulnerability to cyber violence, digital discrimination, and limited access to technology.
